A novel tree structure-based multi-prototype clustering algorithm

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Computer and Information Sciences
Density-peak clustering (DPC) is a novel clustering algorithm that has received much attention from researchers. Its principle is to identify the cluster center of the data by density and distance.

Weight Adaptive Multi-view Spectral Clustering Algorithm Based on Consistent Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng
With the popularity of mobile devices and the Internet, it has become easier to collect and share multi-view data. Multi-view data can describe data from multiple views more accurately.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Redshift-space distortions of galaxies, clusters and AGN: testing how the accuracy of growth rate measurements depends on scales and sample selections

open access: yes, 2017
Redshift-space clustering anisotropies caused by cosmic peculiar velocities provide a powerful probe to test the gravity theory on large scales. However, to extract unbiased physical constraints, the clustering pattern has to be modelled accurately ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Block-Constraint Laplacian-Regularized Low-Rank Representation and Its Application for Cancer Sample Clustering Based on Integrated TCGA Data

open access: yesComplexity, 2020
Low-Rank Representation (LRR) is a powerful subspace clustering method because of its successful learning of low-dimensional subspace of data. With the breakthrough of “OMics” technology, many LRR-based methods have been proposed and used to cancer ...

Single-Cell RNA-Sequencing Data Clustering via Locality Preserving Kernel Matrix Alignment

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) data provide opportunities to reveal new insights into many biological problems such as elucidating cell types. An effective approach to elucidate cell types in complex tissues is to partition the cells into several

The Clustering of Extragalactic Extremely Red Objects

open access: yes, 2004
We have measured the angular and spatial clustering of 671 K5 Extremely Red Objects (EROs) from a 0.98 square degree sub-region of the NOAO Deep Wide-Field Survey (NDWFS).

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Non-Negative Symmetric Low-Rank Representation Graph Regularized Method for Cancer Clustering Based on Score Function

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2020
As an important approach to cancer classification, cancer sample clustering is of particular importance for cancer research. For high dimensional gene expression data, examining approaches to selecting characteristic genes with high identification for ...
