Smart Dimensioning of IP Network Links [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, 2006
Link dimensioning is generally considered as an effective and (operationally) simple mechanism to meet (given) performance requirements. In practice, the required link capacity C is often estimated by rules of thumb, such as C = d·M, where M is the ...

NEUTRON EMISSION MEASUREMENTS OF PWR SPENT FUEL SEGMENTS AND PRELIMINARY VALIDATION OF DEPLETION CALCULATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2021
Assessing neutron emission of LWR spent fuel is necessary for the back-end of the fuel cycle, such as the dimensioning of transport and storage casks of spent fuel.

On the Suboptimality of Thompson Sampling in High Dimensions

open access: yesCoRR, 2021
In this paper we consider Thompson Sampling (TS) for combinatorial semi-bandits. We demonstrate that, perhaps surprisingly, TS is sub-optimal for this problem in the sense that its regret scales exponentially in the ambient dimension, and its minimax regret scales almost linearly.

Initial development and sample dimensioning of rubber tree clones

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2018
The current success of rubber cultivation is related to the use of clones adapted to different edaphoclimatic regions. Hence, it is important to evaluate variables that are correlated with yield.
