A jackknife variance estimator for self-weighted two-stage samples
Self-weighted two-stage sampling designs are popular in practice as they simplify field-work. It is common in practice to compute variance estimates only from the first sampling stage, neglecting the second stage.

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Dual Frame (Landline and Cell RDD) Estimation in a National Survey of Latinos [PDF]
Explores the implications of conducting surveys by both landline and cell phones for issues of survey bias and undercoverage of Latinos, among whom the cell phone-only population is growing.

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Bounding the Bias of Tree-Like Sampling in IP Topologies
It is widely believed that the Internet's AS-graph degree distribution obeys a power-law form. Most of the evidence showing the power-law distribution is based on BGP data.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Reducing Attrition Bias using Targeted Refreshment Sampling and Matching [PDF]
This paper examines the possibility of reducing attrition bias in panel data using targeted refreshment sampling and matched imputation. The targeted refreshment sampling approach consists of collecting new data from the original sampling population from
