Irregular sampling with unknown locations [PDF]

open access: yes1999 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings. ICASSP99 (Cat. No.99CH36258), 1999
This paper is concerned with finding the locations of an irregularly sampled finite discrete-time band-limited signal. First a geometrical approach is described and is transformed into an optimization problem. Due to the structure of the problem, multiple solutions exist and are shifts of each other.

THE IMPACT OF SAMPLING FREQUENCY ON THE ACCURACY OF TRAVELLING WAVE-BASED FAULT PROTECTION METHODS

open access: yesТехнічна електродинаміка, 2020
This paper investigates the impact of sampling frequency on the effectiveness of travelling wave-based fault detection and location in cases when the fault is very close to the relay location.

Latin Hypercube Sampling Method for Location Selection of Multi-Infeed HVDC System Terminal

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Owing to the stochastic states of power systems with large-scale renewable generation, the impact of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems on the stability of the power system should be examined in a probabilistic manner.

The Effect of Targeted Field Investigation on the Reliability of Earth-Retaining Structures in Passive State: A Random Field Approach

open access: yesGeosciences, 2020
In one of their recent works, the authors examined parametrically the effect of targeted field investigation on reducing statistical uncertainty in active state analysis of earth retaining structures based on 2165 different cases for each of the sliding ...

Information-theoretic analysis of realistic odor plumes: What cues are useful for determining location? [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2018
Many species rely on olfaction to navigate towards food sources or mates. Olfactory navigation is a challenging task since odor environments are typically turbulent.

Risk Assessment for Tomato Fruitworm in Processing Tomato Crop-Egg Location and Sequential Sampling

open access: yesInsects, 2020
Helicoverpa armigera is one of the key pests affecting processing tomatoes and many other crops. A three-year study was conducted to describe the oviposition preferences of this species on determinate tomato plants (mainly the stratum, leaf, leaflet, and

Seed Dormancy and Germination Responses to Different Temperatures of Leptochloa chinensis (L.) Nees: A Case Study with 242 Populations Collected from Rice Fields in East China

open access: yesAgronomy
Leptochloa chinensis (L.) Nees is a troublesome rice weed. We collected 242 L. chinensis populations from rice fields in eastern China and studied the duration of seed dormancy and the seed germination ability at different temperatures. All L.
