The processing of periodically sampled multidimensional signals

IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1983
This paper discusses algorithms for processing multidimensional signals which are sampled on regular, but nonrectangular sampling lattices. Such sampling lattices are dictated by some applications and may be chosen for others because of their resulting symmetric responses or computational efficiencies.

Processing schemes for sampled multi-dimensional signals

ICASSP '82. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
In addition to filtering also other operations like insertion of zeros etc. can be employed for the processing of multi-dimensional data arrays. A list of these operations and some examples will be presented. The mathematical description will be given by means of appropriate impulse fields and their Fourier transforms rather than by means of the z ...

Sampling and processing of color signals

Proceedings of 1st International Conference on Image Processing, 2002
The paper discusses the sampling of color spectra and its effect on the accuracy of derived properties such as CIE tristimulus values and color rendering indices. The effect of aliasing and common mathematical operations are discussed. >

Sample-by-sample multi-transform processing of nonstationary speech signals

Conference Record of Thirty-Second Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. No.98CH36284), 2002
We develop algorithms that use orthogonal transforms for sample-by-sample representation of speech signals. Two implementation structures are proposed, namely, the gradient and the Gauss-Seidel structures. The performance of these structures is found to be considerably superior to the performance of previously developed block-by-block implementation ...

CCD Signal Processing Based on Correlated Double Sampling

2011 5th International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering, 2011
The output signal of charge coupled device (CCD) includes many kinds of noises. So in CCD signal acquisition system, it is a key technique that the CCD signal noises must be eliminated or weakened. The paper analyzes the generated mechanism of CCD signal noises, and designs signal processing circuits based on correlated double sampling (CDS) technique ...

Free Probability, Sample Covariance Matrices, and Signal Processing

2006 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speed and Signal Processing Proceedings, 2006
Free probability provides tools and techniques for analyzing the eigen-spectra of large Hermitian random matrices. These stochastic eigen-analysis techniques have been invaluable in providing insight into the structure of sample covariance matrices. We briefly outline how these techniques can be used to analytically predict the spectrum of large sample

Importance sampling in signal processing applications

2015
Importance sampling is a technique originating in Monte Carlo simulation whereby one samples from a different, weighted distribution, in order to reduce variance of the resulting estimator. More recently, variations of importance sampling have emerged as a means for reducing computational and sample complexity in different problems of modern signal ...

The Sampling Theorem of Signal Processing

2002
This overview paper treats the sampling theorem of signal analysis, and especially a variety of its applications in mathematics. These include fractional and infinite series forms of classical combinatorial identities, such as the Chu-Vandermonde convolution formula and some identities due to Hagen, the Gauss summation formula for hypergeometric ...

Multiscale statistical signal processing: identification of a multiscale AR process from a sample of an ordinary signal

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1993
Summary: The theory of stochastic processes on homogeneous trees aims at contributing to the theory of multiresolution stochastic modeling and associated techniques of multiscale, statistical signal processing. In this paper, we solve the problem of identifying such a multiscale process indexed by the nodes of a tree from the observation of this ...

A novel sampling method for CCD signal processing

2010 3rd International Congress on Image and Signal Processing, 2010
In this paper, an efficient sampling method for CCD signal processing is proposed. A sampling clock is used, and its sampling clock is equal to the interval of the floating gate signal. Compared to the existing Correlated Double Sampling (CDS) method, this method saves a sampling clock and prevents the dislocation of the sampling clocks.
