Online Matching Meets Sampling Without Replacement

open access: yes
Sampling without replacement is a natural online rounding strategy for converting fractional bipartite matching into an integral one. In Online Bipartite Matching, we can use the Balance algorithm to fractionally match each online vertex, and then sample an unmatched offline neighbor with probability proportional to the fractional matching.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

On multivariate sampling with and without replacement

open access: yes, 1947
In the chapters I - VII we have succeeded in studying, the most important theoretical properties of probability distributions which arises in common sampling with and without replacement. For Univariate Hypergeometric sampling, we have shown that the

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Sampling Without Replacement with Probability Proportional to Size

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1958
Summary It is shown that sampling without replacement with probability proportional to size can be achieved if the units are grouped with reference to size. When the same unit is chosen a second time, it is substituted by another unit of the same size chosen at random.

On the Equivalence of Common Approaches to Cross Sectional Weights in Household Panel Surveys [PDF]

open access: yes
The computation of cross sectional weights in household panels is challenging because household compositions change over time. Sampling probabilities of new household entrants are generally not known and assigning them zero weight is not satisfying.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...
