Abstract San Lorenzo is the largest Olmec site and the first Olmec regional center. It was first occupied in 1800 BC and rose to its height between 1200 and 1000 BC. Since the 1940s, archaeological investigations have revealed remarkable findings, including ten colossal heads, four thrones, and hundreds of stone monuments.
