The collective application of shorebird tracking data to conservation
Conservation Biology, EarlyView.Abstract
Addressing urgent conservation issues, such as the drastic declines of North American migratory birds, requires creative, evidence‐based, efficient, and collaborative approaches. The abundance of over 50% of monitored North American shorebird populations has declined by over 50% since 1980. To address these declines, we developed a partnership Autumn‐Lynn Harrison, Candace Stenzel, Alexandra Anderson, Jessica Howell, Richard B. Lanctot, Marley Aikens, Joaquín Aldabe, Liam A. Contact Dermatitis, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Background
Allergens are periodically added to the European Baseline Series (EBS) to audit their value in consecutive patch testing. Objectives
To present results of audit allergens tested in consecutive patients in 54 departments in 13 European countries during 2021 and 2022.Wolfgang Uter, Stephen Mark Wilkinson, Andrea Bauer, Leopoldo Borrego, Richard Brans, Timo Buhl, Heinrich Dickel, Rosella Gallo, Ana Giménez Arnau, Margarida Gonçalo, Dimitra Koumaki, Alexander A. JDDG: Journal der Deutschen Dermatologischen Gesellschaft, EarlyView.Summary Objective
This study investigates the association of melanoma risk with total‐body nevus count and the presence of atypical nevi in younger (< 40 years) and older (> 60 years) individuals. Methods
A pooled analysis was conducted within the M‐SKIP project, based on multiple melanoma case‐control studies.Giulia Doi, Aurora Gaeta, Simone Ribero, Nelleke Gruis, Julia Newton‐Bishop, David Polsky, DeAnn Lazovich, Paola Ghiorzo, Gloria Ribas, Chiara Menin, Alexander J. Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Aims
To investigate the association of post‐oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) hypoglycaemia with clinical features, incident diabetes and mortality. Materials and Methods
This population‐based cohort study included 2924 adults (median age 49 years, 1680 women) without known diabetes who underwent a 75‐g OGTT as part of the Di@bet.es Study ...Tomás González‐Vidal, Gemma Rojo‐Martínez, Sergio Valdés, Eva García‐Escobar, Josep Franch‐Nadal, Alfonso Calle‐Pascual, Luis Castaño, Felipe Javier Chaves, Eduard Montanya, Elsa Villa‐Fernández, Ana Victoria García, Miguel García‐Villarino, Carmen Lambert, Edelmiro Menéndez‐Torre, Elías Delgado +14 morewiley +1 more sourceThe 2025 ATS/ERS update of the international multidisciplinary classification of the interstitial pneumonias: implications for the pathologist
Histopathology, EarlyView. This review highlights changes relevant to pathologists in the updated multidisciplinary classification of interstitial pneumonias. Changes include expansion beyond idiopathic disease, subclassification as interstitial (fibrotic vs non‐fibrotic) and alveolar filling disorders, expansion to include additional patterns (e.g.Andrew G Nicholson, Wendy A. Journal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 2, April 2025.Summary
Boosting slow‐wave activity (SWA) by modulating slow waves through closed‐loop auditory stimulation (CLAS) might provide a powerful non‐pharmacological tool to investigate the link between sleep and neurodegeneration. Here, we established mouse CLAS (mCLAS)‐mediated SWA enhancement and explored its effects on sleep deficits in neurodegeneration,Inês Dias, Sedef Kollarik, Michelle Siegel, Christian R. Restoration Ecology, EarlyView.Abstract Introduction
Floodplain wetlands are vitally important, highly productive, and biodiverse ecosystems. Species dependent on them are facing a range of threats including water extraction, habitat degradation, invasive species, and shifting climates.Sally Maxwell, Saúl Gonzalez Murcia, Samuel Lewis, Michael Shackleton, Nick Bond +4 morewiley +1 more sourceGastrointestinal microbiota and barrier integrity in individuals who develop exertional heat illness and pair‐matched controls: A prospective observational cohort study
Experimental Physiology, EarlyView.Abstract
It has been hypothesised that the composition of the gastrointestinal (GI) microbiota contributes to exertional heat illness (EHI) aetiology, but relevant empirical data in humans are lacking. Utilising a unique prospective study design, stool samples and resting blood samples were obtained from 550 individuals prior to (within 3 days ...Alex A. M. Gould, Neil P. Walsh, Michael J.
