The Eastern Khoy metamorphic complex of NW Iran: a Jurassic ophiolite or continuation of the Sanandaj–Sirjan Zone? [PDF]
The Khoy complex in NW Iran has been widely regarded to consist of both Jurassic and Cretaceous ophiolites, but whereas the western Late Cretaceous ophiolite is unequivocal the nature of the eastern Jurassic body has been unclear. Field observations show that the presumed eastern meta-ophiolite has no similarities to an ophiolite sequence.

This work documents how the texture and composition of metamorphic garnet represent a valuable petrological archive capable of deciphering complex thermobaric histories. ABSTRACT In the central sector of the Sanandaj‐Sirjan zone of Iran, the Triassic‐to‐Jurassic ‘Hamedan Phyllites’ metamorphic complex shows a polymetamorphic evolution characterised by ...

Metamorphic conditions of dolomitic marbles from the Qori metamorphic complex, southern Sanandaj-Sirjan zone, using phase thermodynamic diagrams [PDF]
The Barrovian-Qori metamorphic complex, which is exposed in the southern part of the Sanandaj-Sirjan zone, has a succession of metaultramafic, metabasite, metapelite, metacalcic silicate, and marble lithological diversity.

Ecological and Statistical Evaluation of Genetic Algorithm (GARP), Maximum Entropy Method, and Logistic Regression in Predicting Spatial Distribution of Astragalus sp. [PDF]
This study aims to evaluate the potential habitat of Astragalus sp. using three different species distribution modeling methods: the maximum entropy (MaxEnt) model, the Genetic Algorithm for Rule‐Set Production (GARP), and logistic regression. The primary objective was to identify key environmental factors that influence the spatial distribution of ...

Petrology and geochemistry of Noraldinabad rhyolites, NW Iran [PDF]
Felsic igneous rocks record crustal evolutions and provide an important tool for determining the composition and modification of the crust (Zhang et al., 2018). Up to now, several classifications have been proposed for granites and rhyolites.

A detailed knowledge of the thickness of crust and upper mantle structure is important for understanding a plate tectonics and geodynamics in the region. We use body wave for detecting details of the subsurface structure. The information in this research

Abstract We propose a new model for the crust and upper mantle in Iran by joint inversion of gravity and magnetic fields, constrained with a seismic tomography model. We then calculate shear modulus from the Vs velocities and densities. The crust and mantle tomography model is first converted to a density cube through empirical and petrological ...

Petrology and geochemistry of some granitoid and intermediate rocks in southwest of the Qorveh area (Kurdistan) [PDF]
In the southwest of the Qorveh area, north of the Sanandaj-Sirjan zone, there are outcrops of acidic and intermediate rocks including monzogranite, granodiorite, tonalite and diorite.

Abstract Sediments deposited into foreland basins can provide valuable insights related to the geological evolution of their hinterlands. Located in the peripheral foreland of the South Sistan Suture Zone (SE Iran), the Karvandar Basin exhibits a several‐kilometer‐thick shallow‐marine to continental clastic sedimentary sequence forming elongated sub ...
