DUNE SAND STABILIZATION WITH SYNTHETIC SOIL CONDITIONERS
Soil Science, 1974Dune sand was subjected to a range of rainfall intensities the application of chemicals used to stabilize the sand against the raindrop impact. The chemicals had been sprayed on the surface or incorporated with the sand. The following two results were observed: (1) a linear relationship was found between the side splash erosion and the kinetic energy ...

Formation and stability of transverse and longitudinal sand dunes
Geology, 2010The shape of dunes depends on the history of wind regimes and sand availability. In deserts exposed to winds from two different directions but with comparable magnitude, dunes are found to be linear ridges, which are either perpendicular or parallel to the mean wind direction, depending on the angle between the two wind directions.

Stabilization and Utilization of Dune Sand in Road Engineering
Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering, 2013The aim of the work presented in this paper is the valorization of dune sand, which is abundant in Djelfa (Algeria). This study consists of valorizing a local material in road construction. Several stages were considered in this investigation. A method of formulation of the mixtures has been proposed, which is based on the stabilization of the studied ...

Stabilization of Sand Dunes with Recron Fiber and Cement Kiln Dust.
ECS Transactions, 2022This research study aims to stabilization of sand dunes by mixing locally available waste material i.e. cement kiln dust and recron fiber. The stabilization of soil program have been taken into two phases. First mixing sand dune with recron fiber with varying percentage from 0 to 2% by weight. In the second phase the optimum mixture obtained from first

Stabilization of Sand Dunes at Vandenberg Air Force Base
Journal of the Soil Mechanics and Foundations Division, 1964A serious problem was posed by sand movement and deposition affecting the operation of coastal training facilities at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Progressive wind erosion required immediate and effective control measures. After preliminary study and experimentation with available means of erosion control, a combination of four measures was used to ...
