Methodology and exploration for sandstone-type uranium deposits

Mineralium Deposita, 1979
Mobility of uranium with ground water in near surface earth conditions and its association with sandstone formations of continental depositional environments require an increase in the understanding and application of depositional characteristics in exploration.

Fission-track dating of sandstone-type uranium deposits

Geology, 1982
A procedure has been developed to make use of quartz grains in sandstone-type uranium deposits as external detectors of spontaneous fission events in interstitial uranium. Fission-tracks must be counted on a large number of grain surfaces because uranium distribution is not uniform on a grain-to-grain scale.

Geochemical characteristics of Dongsheng sandstone-type uranium deposit, Ordos Basin

Chinese Journal of Geochemistry, 2007
Generally, sandstone-type uranium deposits can be divided into three zones according to their redox conditions: oxidized zone, ore zone and reduced zone. The Dongsheng uranium deposit belongs to this type. In order to study its geochemical characteristics, 11 samples were taken from the three zones of the Dongsheng uranium deposit. Five samples of them

Paleochannel Sandstone-Type Uranium Deposits of Vitim Ore Region

2021
In this chapter present results obtained from last-years studies uranium ores from seven paleochannel-type deposits of Khiagda Ore Field at Vitim uranium ore region, Russia. All deposits belong to sandstone economic type, basal channel subtype; in Russian it commonly called as paleovalley, paleo-riverbed or paleo-streambed.

Remote sensing technique and prognosis of sandstone type uranium deposit

2001 International Conferences on Info-Tech and Info-Net. Proceedings (Cat. No.01EX479), 2002
This paper is firstly aimed at discussing how to utilize different types of remote sensing data and image enhancement, information extraction and multi-source data (TM, JERS-SAR, and geophysical, geochemical data) fusion processing to acquire information related to uranium mineralization.

The Karpinka Lake uranium prospect, Saskatchewan; a possible metamorphosed middle Precambrian sandstone-type uranium deposit

Economic Geology, 1985
The Karpinka Lake prospect is a strata-bound uranium deposit hosted by Aphebian meta-sediments located just to the south of the important unconformity-type deposits at Key Lake in northern Saskatchewan. The uranium occurs as disseminated uraninite and brannerite in sillimanite-bearing quartz-feldspar-biotite gneisses which, on the basis of major ...

Geochemical characteristics of the sandstone-type uranium deposits in Northern Sichuan Province

Chinese Journal of Geochemistry, 1995
Described in detail in this paper are the geochemical characteristics of the sandstone-type uranium deposits in northern Sichuan Province. Favorable and unfavorable conditions for the enrichment of uranium are explored on the basis of the elemental abundances and ratios of U, Th and K determined by gamma-ray spectroscopy.

Sedimentary Environmental Control of Sandstone-Type Uranium Deposits: ABSTRACT

AAPG Bulletin, 1971
Uranium deposits of the Rocky Mountain area are present in fluvial sandstones that were derived from granitic highland source areas and deposited in adjacent intermontane basins. The sandstones are arkosic to arkose in composition and contain a small percentage of carbonized plant debris and pyrite, medium grained to conglomeratic in size, subrounded ...
