Concepts of genesis of sandstone-type uranium ore deposits

Economic Geology, 1963
Although the sources of uranium in sandstone-type ores are in most cases obscure, the formation of the ore deposits can be attributed on the basis of sulfur isotopic data to the precipitating action of hydrogen sulfide of bacteriological origin. In some areas deposition has been related heretofore to natural gas, but the isotopic evidence does not ...

Natural Analogue Study of Tono Sandstone Type Uranium Deposit in Japan

1987
Sandstone type uranium deposit, located in Tono area, central part of Japan, has been recognized as a potentially useful analogue of geological isolation of radioactive wastes in Japan. The uranium deposit occurs as the stratiform which is less than 150 m in depth and below the water table. The studied area is not far from inhabitant. Preliminary study

Sandstone-type uranium deposits at Ambrosia Lake, New Mexico; an interim report

Economic Geology, 1961
The Ambrosia Lake district in northwestern New Mexico is the most important U mining and milling district in the United States. Together with the nearby Laguna district it contains more than 50% of the nation9s reserves. Most of the ore occurs in the Morrison Formation of Late Jurassic age as elongate, tabular, mantolike bodies principally in the upper

Uranium-234 fractionation in the sandstone-type uranium deposits of the Ambrosia Lake District, New Mexico

Economic Geology, 1966
Isotopic analyses for U 234 were made on 30 samples from 5 vertical suites of ore-grade uranium-bearing sandstone from the Ambrosia Lake district, McKinley County, New Mexico. U 238 , U 235 , and U 234 were measured by mass spectrometry, and U 234 /U 238 ratios were verified by alpha spectrometry.

Hyperspectral Data Analyzing for Characterizing Hydrocarbon Microseepage at Sandstone-type Uranium Deposits

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2006
Many uranium geological studies demonstrate the reduction environment induced by hydrocarbon microseepage is one of the key metallogenetic factors for the sandstone-type uranium mineralization, so utilizing hyperspectral and multispectral remote sensing technology to detect hydrocarbon- induced diagenetic alterations, such as clay mineral alteration ...

Uranium speciation and in situ leaching of a sandstone-type deposit from China

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2016
In this paper, uranium ore samples collected from different hole depth and different numbered hole. The effects of uranium speciation to in situ leaching of uranium were analyzed by sequential chemical extraction and sulfuric acid leaching tests. These results imply that the distribution characteristics of uranium speciation are significantly different

Isotope geochemistry of ore fluids for the Dongsheng sandstone-type uranium deposit, China

Chinese Journal of Geochemistry, 2007
The Dongsheng sandstone-type uranium deposit is one of the large-sized sandstone-type uranium deposits discovered in the northern part of the Ordos Basin of China in recent years. Geochemical characteristics of the Dongsheng uranium deposit are significantly different from those of the typical interlayered oxidized sandstone-type uranium ore deposits ...

Palaeochannel Controlled Cretaceous Sandstone-type Uranium Deposit of Lostoin Area, Mahadek Basin, Meghalaya

Journal of the Geological Society of India, 2016
Abstract Sandstone–type uranium deposit hosted by reduced feldspathic sandstone sequence of lower part of Cretaceous Mahadek Formation occurs at Lostoin area of Mahadek basin and is confined within a prominent palaeochannel of NNE-SSW trend with flow towards SSW. The channel-fill comprises of about 10 m to 55 m grey to dark grey coloured,
