A Quasi-3D Polynomial Shear and Normal Deformation Theory for Laminated Composite, Sandwich, and Functionally Graded Beams [PDF]

open access: yesMechanics of Advanced Composite Structures, 2017
Bending analyses of isotropic, functionally graded, laminated composite, and sandwich beams are carried out using a quasi-3D polynomial shear and normal deformation theory.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Development of immunogold test strips for chilli veinal mottle virus detection using monoclonal antibodies against the CP

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
Chilli veinal mottle virus (ChiVMV), a member of the Potyviridae family, a major threat to solanaceous crops, including tobacco and peppers, in China, where it causes systemic necrosis, leaf mottling, and significant yield losses.

Effect of the Computational Model and Mesh Strategy on the Springback Prediction of the Sandwich Material

open access: yesMachines, 2022
The effect of the computational model and mesh strategy on the springback prediction of the thin sandwich material made of micro-alloyed steel was investigated in this paper. To verify the chosen computational strategy, a comparison of the experimentally

Influence of geometry, elasticity properties and boundary conditions on the Mode I purity in sandwich composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The present work addresses the problem of skin/core debonding in sandwich materials. The main goal is to carry out parametric analyses for studying the influence of various materials, geometrical parameters and boundary conditions of sandwich fracture ...

Model-robust regression and a Bayesian ``sandwich'' estimator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present a new Bayesian approach to model-robust linear regression that leads to uncertainty estimates with the same robustness properties as the Huber--White sandwich estimator.

In‐Depth Profiling Highlights the Effect of Efgartigimod on Peripheral Innate and Adaptive Immune Cells in Myasthenia Gravis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by antibody‐mediated complement activation. Efgartigimod, a neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) antagonist, is approved for treating generalized MG (gMG). However, its modulatory effects on upstream innate and adaptive immune cells remain largely unexplored.

Air permeability of balsa core, and its influence on defect formation in resin infused sandwich laminates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Many large composite structures are manufactured using sandwich laminates to achieve high specific bending strength and stiffness. Examples include wind turbine blades, where self-weight becomes increasingly important as blade size increases.

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing
