Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Comparative application analysis and test verification on equivalent modeling theories of honeycomb sandwich panels for satellite solar arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Composites Letters, 2020
Due to the difficulty of direct finite-element modeling for honeycomb sandwich panels, it is more common to apply equivalent modeling theories. It is necessary to compare their equivalent precision and then to determine the method with the best ...

The Thomsen model of inserts in sandwich composites: An evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
An one-dimensional finite element model of a sandwich panel with insert is derived using the approach used in the Thomsen model. The one-dimensional model produces results that are close to those of a two-dimensional axisysmmetric model.

Lipid Nanoparticles for the Delivery of CRISPR/Cas9 Machinery to Enable Site‐Specific Integration of CFTR and Mutation‐Agnostic Disease Rescue

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) are optimized to co‐deliver Cas9‐encoding messenger RNA (mRNA), a single guide RNA (sgRNA) targeting the endogenous cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene, and homologous linear double‐stranded donor DNA (ldsDNA) templates encoding CFTR.

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Development of a High-Performance Building Material Using Wood-based Corrugated Panels Manufactured via Cold-Forming Technique

open access: yesBioResources, 2023
A wood-based sandwich panel with a corrugated core was developed as a building material. A matched-die mold manufactured from commercial plywood was used to fabricate the corrugated panels through a cold-forming process.
