Admission Plasma Lipopolysaccharide‐binding protein, Procalcitonin, and Lactate for Early Identification of Nosocomial Infection in Cirrhotic Patients With Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding: A Retrospective Analysis

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to assess whether admission plasma lipopolysaccharide‐binding protein (LBP), procalcitonin (PCT), and lactate could improve detection of nosocomial infection in cirrhotic patients presenting with upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB).

Monolithic Integration of ScAlN Modulators on Silicon‐On‐Insulator Platform

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Monolithic integration of scandium‐doped aluminum nitride (ScAlN) modulators on a silicon‐on‐insulator platform is reported. A multilayer electrode design enhances RF‐optical field overlap, enabling direct access to the diagonal electro‐optic coefficient and improved modulation efficiency.

Topological Photonic Devices and Circuits at Terahertz Frequencies

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This review examines how 3D topological insulators and emerging topological photonic phases enable robust, low‐loss and defect‐immune terahertz devices. Fundamental properties, device implementations and topological transport mechanisms are surveyed, revealing new opportunities for reconfigurable, high‐performance THz components and scalable ...

Sandwich acoustic panel

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2004
An acoustic panel with several degrees of freedom comprises a resistive layer (14), a compartmentalized structure (16) formed from at least two superposed compartmentalized layers (18) and a back reflector (17), starting from an outside face facing an incident acoustic wave.

Incremental Forming of Sandwich Panels

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2007
This paper presents a first investigation of the applicability of incremental sheet forming (ISF) to sandwich panels. Two initial tests on various sandwich panel designs established that sandwich panels which are ductile and incompressible are the most suitable for the process.

Eccentrically loaded sandwich panels

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1977
AbstractThe paper deals with the design of eccentrically loaded sandwich panels in civil engineering structures. A theoretical analysis taking into account the non‐linear stress–strain properties of the materials and the influence of shear deformations is proposed. A computer program based on the described algorithm is used to solve a numerical example.

Sandwich panel repair

1997
This chapter will briefly go over some of the types of damage that honeycomb sandwich panels suffer and the principles of repair. Military Handbook 337 (1982) Adhesive Bonded Aerospace Structural Repair is an excellent source for detailed repair procedures. It replaces and updates the old Military Handbook 23 (1968) repair section.

Structural-Acoustic Optimization of Sandwich Panels

Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, 2005
Sandwich panels comprising face sheets enclosing a core are increasingly common structural elements in a variety of applications, including aircraft fuselages, flight surfaces, vehicle panels, lightweight enclosures, and bulkheads. This paper presents the optimization of various innovative sandwich configurations for minimization of their structural ...
