Surface Diffusion in SnTe‐PbTe Monolayer Lateral Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The lateral heterostructures between 2D materials often suffer from the interdiffusion at the interfaces. Here, a surface diffusion mechanism is found to be dominating at the interfaces between semiconducting SnTe and PbTe monolayers. Atomically sharp interfaces can be achieved by suppressing this diffusion process. ABSTRACT The construction of complex

The behavior of bonded doubler splices for composite sandwich panels [PDF]

open access: yes
The results of an investigation into the behavior of adhesively bonded doubler splices of two composite material sandwich panels are presented. The splices are studied from three approaches: analytical; numerical (finite elements); and experimental ...

Exciton‐Polaritons in Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks: A Platform for the Reversible Modulation of Strong Light‐Matter Coupling via the Chemical Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Strong exciton‐photon coupling is achieved by integrating porphyrin ligand‐based MOF nanoparticles in optical cavities, as evidenced by pronounced polariton branch anticrossing. The porous nature of the resonator enables precise, reversible tuning via vapor pressure, unlocking unprecedented chemical‐environment controlled dynamic polaritonic platforms ...

Influences of impurities in recycled plastics on properties of PIM sandwich panels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Powder impression moulding (PIM) is a novel technology for manufacturing lightweight sandwich panels from plastics in powder form. The process is featured by its high tolerant to impurities or contaminants in the feedstock and thus requires much less ...

Pixelation‐Free, Monolithic Iontronic Pressure Sensors Enabling Large‐Area Simultaneous Pressure and Position Recognition via Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pixelation‐free, monolithic iontronic pressure sensor enables simultaneous pressure and position sensing over large areas. AC‐driven ion release generates spatially varying impedance pathways depending on the pressure. Machine learning algorithms effectively decouple overlapping pressure–position signals from the multichannel outputs, achieving high ...

Development of reinforced composite sandwich panels based on 3D fabrics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
relative new type of sandwich material was investigated, based on 3D knitted sandwich fabric preforms. Due to the integrally interlacement of both sandwich-fabric the skins by the connection yarns – core debonding resistance of panels and structures ...

Initial experimental investigations on natural fibre reinforced honeycomb core panels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The main attention of the present work is on eco-friendly honeycomb cores for sandwich panels. They are manufactured by combining flax fibres with polyethylene matrix; the analyses involve both reinforced and un-reinforced cores.
