Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

Numerical simulation of three interior double-layer bulkhead structures
When anti-ship missiles penetrate into the ship armor, fragments and shock waves caused by explosion will severely destroy the personnel and equipment on the ships. In this study, three double-layer bulkheads with different interior sandwich structures were

Prediction of the structural motifs of sandwich proteins [PDF]
We investigate the supersecondary structure of a large group of proteins, the so-called sandwich proteins. The analysis of a large number of such proteins has led us to propose a set of rules that can be used to predict the possible arrangements of strands in the two β-sheets forming a given sandwich structure.

Novel bis-arene (Sandwich) Complexes with NO\u3csup\u3e+\u3c/sup\u3e Acceptor. Isolation, X-ray Crystallography and Electronic Structure [PDF]
The unusual charge-transfer complexes of various arene donors (ArH) with the nitrosonium cation (NO+) resulting from bimolecular [1 ∶ 1] associations can be extended at suitably high ArH concentrations to termolecular processes leading to the analogous ...

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

The use of synchrotron edge topography to study polytype nearest neighbour relationships in SiC [PDF]
A brief review of the phenomenon of polytypism is presented and its prolific abundance in Silicon Carbide discussed. An attempt has been made to emphasise modern developments in understanding this unique behaviour. The properties of Synchrotron Radiation
