Thresholds of Wave Forcing: Implications for Atoll Reef Dynamics Under Sea Level Rise
Abstract We investigate the response of shallow reef flow to tidal variability and wave exposure during a 4‐month field campaign in southern Huvadhu Atoll, Maldives. Incident waves breaking on steep fore reefs and reef crests generate a setup proportional to offshore wave height that drives a cross‐reef flow. We emphasize a critical threshold—where the

Ecological Impacts of Beach Grooming on Exposed Sandy Beaches
Kelp and phytoplankton washed ashore by tides and waves support a rich diversity of shore life. On many of the most popular sandy beaches in California, however, local municipalities regularly rake up litter and kelp in a process called beach grooming.

Abstract This study presents the first high‐resolution spatial and temporal analysis of wind flow, sediment transport and topographic evolution under simultaneous storm conditions across two morphologically contrasting beach‐dune systems, characterized by a gently sloping dune face (11°) and a steep, scarped dune face (36°).

Abstract A physics‐informed deep conditional generative model driven with remotely sensed surface currents is shown to estimate surfzone water depths (bathymetry). The model encodes measured flow data as latent Gaussian parameters and decodes these distributions to estimate water depths over the domain, progressively refining its predictions via a loss‐
