Soil organic matter influences the agronomic efficiency of boron fertilizers in sandy Oxisol cultivated with soybean [PDF]

open access: yesScientia Agricola
Boron (B) is readily leached from the soil, depending on the soil texture, soil organic matter (OM) content, and the fertilizer source used. This can restrict B uptake by plants. Therefore, we investigated the most adequate B source for soybeans grown in

Water Movement and Finger Flow Characterization in Homogeneous Water-Repellent Soils

open access: yesVadose Zone Journal, 2018
Soil water repellency (SWR) is a widespread property in soils around the world. It influences soil water movement and causes unstable flow. The mechanics of finger flow occurrence in water-repellent soils are not clearly understood.

EFFECT OF GRADING OF SANDY SOIL ON STRENGTH OF CEMENT TREATED SANDY SOIL

open access: yesDoboku Gakkai Ronbunshu, 1992

Experimental study on the effect of different cement content on the improvement of dynamic characteristics of seismic-prone poor soil.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
The improvement of sandy soils with poor seismic properties to modify their dynamic characteristics is of great importance in seismic design for engineering sites.

Impact of Sewage Sludge on Water Movement in Calcareous Sandy Soils

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Marine Sciences, 1997
The present study was undertaken to investigate the changes in soil physical properties and their effect on water movement under ponded irrigation. Sewage sludge was applied to 10 cm soil depth at rates of 0.25. 75  and 100 Mg-ha-1 to two disturbed soils

Quantification of C and N stocks in grassland topsoils in a Dutch region dominated by dairy farming [PDF]

open access: yes
Estimates on soil organic carbon (SOC) and nitrogen (N) stocks in soils cannot be directly calculated from routine soil analyses, since these often lack measurements on soil bulk density (Bd).
