Potencials of sap flow evaluation by means of acoustic emission measurements
The work deals with measurement techniques of water conducting system in the trees. Water conducting system (including xylem and phloem) indicates its importance for related physiological processes. There are still problems how to measure its functioning

Managing Sustainability Data Proactively: Corporate Sustainability Reporting (Directive) as a Driver
ABSTRACT Sustainability has become a key priority for firms, and the increasing number of mandatory regulations only heightens its importance. The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) introduces stringent non‐financial disclosure requirements, significantly expanding the scope and breadth of reporting, particularly for those operating in

Hairy Roadblock: Stem Trichomes Impede Herbivore Movement in a Species and Instar‐Dependent Manner
ABSTRACT Plants have evolved to deploy a vast set of defence mechanisms against insect herbivores, including physical barriers like leaf trichomes with pre and post ingestive effects. Yet, the role of stem trichomes in plant‐herbivore interactions, particularly mobility dynamics, is poorly understood.

Fish welfare in a changing world: New developments and current challenges
Abstract The welfare of non‐human animals is central to ethical discussions on animal use, with increasing attention to fish welfare across research, aquaria, aquaculture, and fisheries. This paper reviews current theoretical approaches to animal welfare and recent advances in defining and assessing fish welfare since the seminal paper by Huntingford ...

A novel sap flow system to measure maize transpiration using a heat pulse method
Finding ways to irrigate more efficiently is crucial for long term agricultural sustainability around the globe. Assessing plant water consumption using sap flow gauges (SFG) can quantify irrigation water requirements and identify ways to improve ...

No Remedy: Injustice and Constrained Citizenship in Indonesia's Plantation Zone
ABSTRACT This contribution to the special issue examines a constrained version of citizenship in Indonesia's plantation zone. When corporations take hold of village land, residents experience devastating dispossession and a profound sense of injustice, yet they lack effective channels through which to claim rights as citizens or secure remedy from the ...

An unsupervised machine learning approach to iron meteorite classification
Abstract Iron meteorites are usually classified manually using bivariate elemental plots. This study extends iron meteorite classification into multi‐element space. We present a computational method for the classification of iron meteorites by applying unsupervised machine learning using density‐based cluster analysis.

Flow rate of transport network controls uniform metabolite supply to tissue
Life and functioning of higher organisms depends on the continuous supply of metabolites to tissues and organs. What are the requirements on the transport network pervading a tissue to provide a uniform supply of nutrients, minerals, or hormones?
