Hindfoot Instability Test—Introduction and Validation of an Intraoperative Diagnostic Test of Hindfoot Instability in Deltoid Ligament Injury Associated With Ankle Fractures

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The deltoid ligament complex (DLC) is well‐known as an ankle joint stabilizer; however, through the superficial DLC, it also acts at the subtalar joint and helps to maintain the medial longitudinal arch. DLC repair in the presence of an ankle fracture remains a topic of controversy in the current literature.

Evaluating the course of the saphenous vein and nerve for risk assessment in the suture button technique

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The suture button technique can cause damage to the saphenous vein and nerve. We examined the location and course of the great saphenous vein using magnetic resonance imaging and determined its position at 10, 20, 30, or 40 mm proximal to the tibial ...

Clinical Outcomes of Drug‐Eluting Stents and Drug‐Coated Balloons in Tortuous Small Coronary Lesions

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background In small, tortuous coronary lesions, the long‐term comparative performance of drug‐coated balloon (DCB) angioplasty versus drug‐eluting stent (DES) treatment remains uncertain, despite both strategies being widely used in contemporary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) practice. Aims This study aimed to compare 3‐year clinical

An Unusual Course and Termination of Small Saphenous Vein: A Case Report [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2016
The superficial veins of the lower limb can vary in their course and termination. We report a relatively rare type of variation in the course and termination of small saphenous vein.

Agreement between invasive and oscillometric blood pressure measurements during controlled haemorrhage in anaesthetised horses

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Defining the reliability of oscillometry (NIBP) for measuring mean arterial pressure (MAP) during normotension and hypovolaemic hypotension could help with cardiovascular monitoring and management in horses anaesthetised in dorsal recumbency.

Nutraceutical Benefits of Anchomanes difformis Rhizome and Its Effects on Blood Glucose and Hepatorenal Function in Normoglycemic Rats

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Scientific analysis of Anchomanes difformis roots confirms significant nutraceutical potential, containing high levels of carbohydrates, proteins, and essential minerals. Phytochemical screening revealed antioxidants such as phenols and flavonoids, and although the extracts effectively lowered plasma glucose, safety testing showed dose‐dependent risks.

Non‐anatomical MPFL reconstruction and failure to address relevant pathologies are common reasons for treatment injuries following treatment for patellofemoral instability

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Management of patellofemoral instability (PFI) tailored to the individual patoanatomy can be complex with potential pitfalls. However, reports on complications and suboptimal outcomes remain limited. The aim of this study was to analyse problems related to PFI treatment in Denmark.

Gene Transfer of Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide Inhibits Macrophages and Inflammatory Mediators in Vein Graft Disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Vein graft disease is a chronic inflammatory disease and limits the late results of coronary revascularization. Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) inhibits macrophages infiltrated and inflammatory mediators, we hypothesized that transfected CGRP gene
