Elimination of saphenous reflux after tributary sclerotherapy: report of two cases
Most patients with chronic venous disease (CVD) and reflux in the saphenous vein are treated with saphenous stripping or ablation. The venous hemodynamics approach offers the possibility of treating saphenous reflux without eliminating the saphenous vein.

Morphological Changes in Endothelial Cell Organelles in a No-Touch Saphenous Vein Graft [PDF]
Introduction: Improved long-term patency of the no-touch (NT) saphenous vein graft has been reported to result from the preservation of a healthy vascular microstructure, especially endothelial cells.

Reinventing the Saphenous Vein: Reconstructing the Anterior Mitral Leaflet With a Saphenous Vein [PDF]
Mitral valve repair can sometimes require leaflet augmentation or a patch repair of a defect in the leaflet. No ideal patch material is currently available that can grow and adapt to the mitral leaflet. This report describes a new technique using autologous saphenous vein as patch material.

Assessment of Graft Patency Between Pedicled Saphenous Vein and Conventional Saphenous Vein Conduits for Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery [PDF]
Introduction: The long-term successes of coronary artery bypass graft surgery depends on continued patency of the bypass conduits. After coronary artery bypass graft, however, the saphenous vein grafts show a high incidence of accelerated atherosclerosis.

A lower extremity arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is sometimes associated with venous disease following venous hypertension, especially when the saphenous vein is the main return route. This can cause venous dilation, leading to valve insufficiency.
