Saphenous Vein Graft Interventions
Interventional Cardiology Clinics, 2016Saphenous vein graft interventions compose a small but important subset of percutaneous coronary revascularization. Because of their unique biology, percutaneous angioplasty and stenting require tailored patient and lesion selection and modification of intervention technique to optimize outcomes. The use of embolic protection and appropriate adjunctive

Pathology of Saphenous Vein Grafts
Interventional Cardiology Clinics, 2013Saphenous vein grafts (SVGs) are the most used conduits in coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery; however, they are susceptible to accelerated atherosclerosis. Clinical studies have shown 10-year patency rates of SVG can be as low as 50% to 60%. This article highlights changes that are observed following CABG surgery using SVG, including intimal ...

Aortocoronary saphenous vein graft aneurysm
Clinical Imaging, 1994An aortocoronary saphenous vein graft aneurysm was diagnosed with computed tomography and selective arteriography in a 79-year-old woman with a history of multiple coronary bypass graft surgeries. Aneurysms of saphenous vein grafts are rare complications of bypass surgery but need to be considered when evaluating bypass patients who present with a ...

SAPHENOUS VEIN GRAFTING FOR ANGINA
Medical Journal of Australia, 1981An analysis of 200 consecutive patients treated by saphenous-vein bypass grafting has been carried out. One patient died in hospital, and one died nine months after surgery. Some of the factors which predispose to postoperative complications can be defined preoperatively.

Natural History of Saphenous Vein Grafts
Interventional Cardiology Clinics, 2013Aortocoronary saphenous vein graft is an effective treatment of coronary artery disease and a means of markedly improving long-term prognosis in certain patient subgroups. However, there is a significant failure rate with these conduits. Early failure occurs within the first 1-2 months, most likely from primary thrombosis.

Saphenous vein graft (SVG) disease has been an obstinate problem facing the cardiologist since the early days of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. SVG disease follows temporally distinct phases of thrombosis, intimal hyperplasia and progressive atherosclerosis leading to recurrent ischemia which can be treated with repeat operation or ...
