Systematic review, network meta-analysis and exploratory cost-effectiveness model of randomized trials of minimally invasive techniques versus surgery for varicose veins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background A Health Technology Assessment was conducted to evaluate the relative clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of minimally invasive techniques (foam sclerotherapy (FS), endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) and radiofrequency ablation (RFA)

Low Expression of lncRNA-GAS5 Is Implicated in Human Primary Varicose Great Saphenous Veins

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The cellular mechanisms of primary varicose great saphenous veins (GSVs) involve inflammation, apoptosis, and proliferation of local cells and extracellular matrix degradation.

Copolymers of Poly(Butylene Trans‐1,4‐Cyclohexanedicarboxylate)/Pripol as New Biomaterial Platform for Small Diameter Vascular Graft

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospun tubular scaffolds from novel PBCE‐based copolyesters and blends were designed as candidates for small‐diameter vascular grafts. They combine defect‐free architecture, blood‐compatible surfaces, and mechanical properties comparable to native vessels.

Saphenous Vein Graft Pseudoaneurysm

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2009
![Figure][1] [![Graphic][3] ][3][![Graphic][4] ][4] A 71-year-old man with a history of coronary artery bypass grafting 10 years earlier presented with recurrent angina. A repeat coronary angiogram revealed a large pseudoaneurysm in the saphenous vein graft supplying the ...

Assessment of a novel, capsid-modified adenovirus with an improved vascular gene transfer profile [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
<p>Background: Cardiovascular disorders, including coronary artery bypass graft failure and in-stent restenosis remain significant opportunities for the advancement of novel therapeutics that target neointimal hyperplasia, a characteristic of both ...

Endothelial GPR68 Is Essential for Arteriogenesis and Represents a Therapeutic Target in a Model of Peripheral Artery Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Endothelial GPR68 is identified as a critical regulator of collateral artery growth in peripheral artery disease. Genetic and pharmacological evidence demonstrates that GPR68 integrates hemodynamic cues to drive monocyte recruitment and inflammatory remodeling, thereby promoting collateral arteriogenesis and tissue perfusion after ischemia ...

Noninvasive Focal Gene Delivery into the Cerebellum of Non‐Human Primates using Focused Ultrasound

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Focal and non‐invasive viral vector delivery in non‐human primates remains a major challenge in translational neuroscience. Low‐intensity focused ultrasound was used to transiently open the blood–brain barrier and enable targeted gene delivery to the cerebellum.

Bridge saphenous vein graft

open access: yesThe Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 1975
Single aorta-coronary artery vein grafts (bridge grafts) were constructed to two coronary branches with a side-to-side anastomosis in 250 patients. Most of these grafts were constructed between circumflex branches (96 grafts), circumflex and diagnol branches (47 grafts), and anterior descending and diagonol branches (79 grafts).

Microscopic and ultrastructural evaluation of the saphenous vein endothelium for CABG prepared by the no touch technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
OBJECTIVE: Saphenous vein grafts (SV) used in coronary artery bypass grafting have a limited life and vein occlusion may be the final adverse effect. Efforts to develop new techniques to harvest the saphenous vein may improve the viability of the graft ...
