Biogeographic divergence in leaf traits of Sapindus mukorossi and Sapindus delavayi and its relation to climate

Journal of Forestry Research, 2020
To explore differences in leaf morphology between Sapindus mukorossi and Sapindus delavayi, and how the environment might drive these differences, 80 germplasm samples from the Sapindus germplasm nursery in Fujian Province were selected. The study revealed a wide variation and diversity in 16 germplasm traits, both within and between species grown ...

Morphological Characteristics of Sapindus Species

2019
Sapindus species belongs to the Sapindaceae family. Sapindus is medium-to-large size, deciduous tree and few species of Sapindus exist as shrub too. This tree is an important forest tree species. Sapindus is commonly known as soapberry and soapnut because the fruits are acting as natural detergent and are used to make soap.

Antiulcer activity of Sapindus saponaria L. in the rat

Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2002
Extracts of leaves and fruits of Sapindus saponaria L. were orally administered to rats and the parameters of gastric secretion (volume, pH and acidity) were evaluated after pylorus ligature. The inhibitory effect of the extracts on lesions induced by stress was compared to that of cimetidine.

Anti-Inflammatory Activity ofSapindus trifoliatusLinn.

Journal of Herbal Pharmacotherapy, 2004
Anti-inflammatory activity of the ethanolic extract of the seeds of Sapindus trifoliatus Linn. was studied in wister rats using the carrageenan induced left hind paw edema, carrageenan induced pleurisy and cotton pellet induced granuloma model. The ethanolic extract (150 mg/kg, p.o.) produced the inhibition of carrageenan induced rat paw edema. It also

Biological activity and isolated compounds in Sapindus saponaria L. and other plants of the genus Sapindus

2008
Species of Sapindus (Sapindaceae) are widespread throughout the tropics (e.g., Brazil, China and India). The present report is based on available data and references on species of this genus. The main substances found in plants of the genus Sapindus are acetylated triterpenic saponin and acyclic sesquiterpene oligoglycosides.
