Larvicidal potential of Sapindus saponaria to control the cattle tick Boophilus microplus [PDF]

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuaria Brasileira, 2005
The objective of this study was to evaluate the larvicidal potential of a crude ethanol extract (CEE) of soapberry Sapindus saponaria stem peel on the cattle tick Boophilus microplus. Tick larvae obtained by incubating engorged females, collected from naturally infested cattle, were placed in envelopes of filter paper impregnated with different ...

Molluscicidal Saponins from the Pericarp of Sapindus Saponaria

International Journal of Pharmacognosy, 1995
AbstractA monodesmosidic acetylated saponin (1) and a mixture of two monodesmosidic saponins (2 and 3) have been isolated from a methanol extract of the fruits of Sapindus saponaria. The structures of compounds 1-3 were established as 3-O-[4-acetyl-β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1-3)-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-2)-a-L-arabinopyranosyl]-hederagenin, 3-O-[a-L ...

Antiulcer activity of Sapindus saponaria L. in the rat

Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2002
Extracts of leaves and fruits of Sapindus saponaria L. were orally administered to rats and the parameters of gastric secretion (volume, pH and acidity) were evaluated after pylorus ligature. The inhibitory effect of the extracts on lesions induced by stress was compared to that of cimetidine.

Dereplication of glycosides from Sapindus saponaria using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, 2006
