Calorimetric study of water adsorption on saponite
Colloid Journal, 2012The isotherms and differential heats of water vapor adsorption on Na- and Ca-saponite samples are measured. It is shown that the successive stages of hydration of the internal surface of this mineral appear as waves or inflections in the adsorption isotherms and maxima in the dependences of the differential heat on the adsorption value.

Analyses of a Variety of Saponite
Mineralogical Magazine and Journal of the Mineralogical Society, 1883The variety of saponite described in the following note was first obtained by Mr. Waiter Burns, of the Geological Society of Glasgow, from a quarry in the Cathkin Hills, about three miles S.S.E. of Glasgow, The quarry is hewn out of dark-coloured dolerite, rich in olivine, which restg on beds of felspathic ash. The dolerite has in places been converted

Optimization of the Pillaring of a Saponite
1992AI-pillared clays thermally stable up to 750°C have been prepared from easily available starting materials: a natural clay, namely the saponite, and a commercial aqueous solution of Chlorhydrol.
