Based on an SAR speckle statistical model, the authors investigate the feasibility of segmenting SAR images based on a gray-level histogram for one-look and multilook processed SAR images. The classification errors are evaluated and a procedure for the multilevel thresholding of SAR images is devised.

Present Situation and Prospect of Missile-borne Radar Imaging Technology
The missile-borne SAR may create high-resolution two-dimensional images of the observation area to gather detailed geomorphological information and information on the size and shape of the target, thereby helping to choose the attack place and enhancing ...

Progressive SAR imaging technique [PDF]
A progressive SAR imaging technique is proposed as a novel SAR raw data processing scheme in this paper. Different from the classic SAR imaging algorithms which focus the SAR raw data as a whole regardless of the backscattering signal, the novel scheme discriminate the backscattering signal and choose the proper ones to be focused progressively ...

Forward-Looking MIMO-SAR for Enhanced Radar Imaging in Autonomous Mobile Robots
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) techniques are commonly used in spaceborne and airborne side-looking radar imaging applications, where the relatively high platform speeds enable the formation of very long synthetic apertures, which provide images with ...

Two-dimensional deceptive jamming mitigation algorithm for SAR imaging using frequency diverse array
The synthetic aperture radar (SAR) may be threatened greatly by the deceptive jamming within its main-lobe. To tackle this problem, a two-dimensional self-adaptive frequency diverse array (FDA)-based SAR processing scheme is proposed in this study ...

PSF Analysis and Ground Test Results of a Novel Circular Array 3-D SAR System
Array Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASAR) system radar imaging field has gained attention because of its three-dimensional (3-D) imaging ability. A novel Circular Array SAR (CASAR) system is employed for 3-D high-resolution radar imaging to overcome the ...

Fractal parameters and SAR images [PDF]
The fractal geometry proved to be the most appropriate mathematical instrument in describing natural scenes, by means of few effective and reliable geophysical parameters. In this paper we describe a complete processing chain for the retrieving of SAR image fractal parameters and for change detection purposes.
