Signum coded SAR interferometry

1995 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, IGARSS '95. Quantitative Remote Sensing for Science and Applications, 2002
The present communication is concerned about the use of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images obtained by processing raw data and reference function both quantized at one bit (Signum Coding) for topographic mapping in interferometric SAR processing.

Ultra-wideband SAR interferometry

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 1998
The authors introduce ultra-wideband synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry as a new technique for topographic height retrieval. It is based on using a SAR system with large relative bandwidth that acquires data along two parallel tracks with a separation of the same order of magnitude as the flight altitude.

SAR interferometry and statistical topography

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2002
The paper introduces a parametric model for the power spectrum density of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferograms. This model is derived by assuming the interferogram as a stationary frequency-modulated process and by exploiting the statistical description of earth topography provided by multifractal fields. Despite the small number of parameters

Layover solution in multibaseline SAR interferometry

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2002
In this work, spectral estimation techniques are used to exploit baseline diversity of a multichannel interferometric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system and overcome the layover problem. This problem arises when different height contributions collapse in the same range-azimuth resolution cell, due to the presence of strong terrain slopes or ...

Coherence optimisation in polarimetric SAR interferometry

IGARSS'97. 1997 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium Proceedings. Remote Sensing - A Scientific Vision for Sustainable Development, 2002
The authors outline a general formulation for vector wave interferometry and then solve the optimisation problem involving maximisation of phase. In this way the authors are able to show that wave polarisation effects play an important role in the extraction of information from radar interferograms.

Multiresolution phase unwrapping for SAR interferometry

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 1999
An approach to two-dimensional (2D) phase unwrapping for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry is presented, based on separate steps of coarse phase and fine phase estimation. A technique called adaptive multiresolution is introduced for local fringe frequency estimation, in which difference frequencies between resolution levels are estimated ...

DEM by Ground-Based SAR Interferometry

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2007
In this letter, a ground-based synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometer was used to generate digital elevation maps (DEMs) of the illuminated area. With respect to other ground-based data processing techniques, here, the effect of the propagation through the atmosphere is considered.
