سازند سرچشمه یکی از واحدهای سنگ چینه ­ ای حوضه‏رسوبی کپه داغ است. این سازند در برش­های مختلف از شرق تا غرب حوضه‏رسوبی کپه داغ دارای ضخامت­های متفاوتی­ می­باشد. به منظور تعیین محیط دیرینه و پالینوفاسیس این سازند و مقایسه آنها، سازند سرچشمه در دو برش روستای جورق و شیخ مورد بررسی قرار گرفت.
