Targeting PRAME directly or via EZH2 inhibition overcomes retinoid resistance and represents a novel therapy for keratinocyte carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 19, Issue 5, Page 1471-1492, May 2025.
The study evaluated the function and therapeutic implications of PRAME in basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The findings demonstrate that PRAME impairs keratinocyte differentiation pathways. Furthermore, PRAME impairs anticancer response to retinoid compounds in BCC and SCC cells.

Shrimp Virus Regulates ROS Dynamics via the Nrf2 Pathway to Facilitate Viral Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 18, May 15, 2025.
Viruses manipulate host ROS as a strategy to achieve successful infection. WSSV exploits Nrf2 pathway to maintain ROS homeostasis and establishes a positive feedback loop to facilitate WSSV replication. Wsv220 competitively binds to Keap1 to activate Nrf2. Nrf2 up‐regulates LvG6PDH to produce more NADPH and GSH to eliminate excessive ROS.

Advancing the Identification of Bioactive Molecules and the Construction of a Synergistic Drug Delivery System in Combating Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 18, May 15, 2025.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), while holistic and historically esteemed, faces challenges in “miracle cures” due to slow onset, long cycles, and difficulty controlling quality. This study obtains the active ingredients, glabridin (GLA) and puerarin (PUE), from Ge‐Gen Decoction (GGD), developing a safe and effective drug delivery system, GLA‐PUE ...

Silver Nanoparticle‐Mediated Antiviral Efficacy against Enveloped Viruses: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2025.
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) exhibit broad‐spectrum antiviral activity by targeting key viral structures and processes. They disrupt viral envelopes, compromising integrity, and bind to nucleocapsids, impairing viral replication. AgNPs also inhibit glycoprotein interactions, preventing viral attachment and entry into host cells.
