Genetic Differentiation of Round Sardinella Sardinella aurita (Clupeidae) Populations from the Northeastern Mediterranean

Journal of Ichthyology, 2023
The genetic structure of round sardinella Sardinella aurita populations sampled from the eastern Mediterranean, Iskenderun, Mersin, and Antalya Bays, was examined through cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) sequencing of mtDNA. A total of 32 haplotypes was obtained from COI sequences, and the mean haplotype diversity was found to be 0.7917.

Purification and characterization of three trypsin isoforms from viscera of sardinelle (Sardinella aurita)

Fish Physiology and Biochemistry, 2010
Three trypsin isoforms A, B and C were purified to homogeneity from the viscera of sardinelle (Sardinella aurita). Purification was achieved by ammonium sulfate precipitation (20-70% (w/v)), Sephadex G-100 gel filtration and Mono Q-Sepharose anion-exchange chromatography.

Increasing abundance of the round sardinella, Sardinella aurita, related to the warming trend in the NW Mediterranean

2020
In the last decade a marked increase in the abundance of the warm water pelagic species Sardinella auritahas been observed, following the warming of the NW Mediterranean waters. From the distribution of commercial landings along a latitudinal gradient, the possible replacement of Sardina pilchardusby Sardinella auritais brought ...

Development of polymorphic microsatellite markers in Sardinella aurita by 5′-anchored PCR technique

Journal of Genetics, 2015
Sardinella aurita, a member of the family of Clupeidae, lives in the upper and middle layers of warm ocean water (Yang and Qiu 1993). It is a medium-sized pelagic fish widely distributed from Atlantic Ocean to west Pacific Ocean. In Asia, it is naturally found near the southeastern coasts of China and in other countries such as Japan and India (Jiang ...
