JRK binds satellite III DNA and is necessary for the heat shock response
Abstract JRK is a DNA‐binding protein of the pogo superfamily of transposons, which includes the well‐known centromere binding protein B (CENP‐B). Jrk null mice exhibit epilepsy, and growth and reproductive disorders, consistent with its relatively high expression in the brain and reproductive tissues.

SUMO1‐conjugation is altered during normal aging but not by increased amyloid burden
Summary A proper equilibrium of post‐translational protein modifications is essential for normal cell physiology, and alteration in these processes is key in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease. Recently, for instance, alteration in protein SUMOylation has been linked to amyloid pathology.

Three HAD‐like phosphatases – YcsE, YwtE and YitU – that catalyze dephosphorylation of one of the riboflavin biosynthesis intermediates are knocked out singly or in combinations inB. subtilis using CRISPR‐Cas9 genome editing technology. The influence of the knockouts on bacterial fitness as well as on flavin and adenylate intracellular concentration is

MG132‐induced progerin clearance is mediated by autophagy activation and splicing regulation
Progerin is a toxic protein that accumulates in the nuclei of Progeria patients' cells, sequestered in abnormal PML‐NBs. The proteasome inhibitor MG132 is shown to degrade progerin by activating autophagy and transcriptional inhibition through SRSF‐1 and SRSF‐5 splicing regulation.
