Beyond Dung: Attractiveness of Native and Exotic Fruits to Dung Beetles in the Brazilian Savanna

open access: yesAustral Ecology, Volume 51, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Dietary breadth enhances animal resilience in environments where resources are unpredictable or declining, enabling species to exploit alternative food sources when primary ones are scarce. In dung beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeinae), frugivory is an increasingly recognised foraging strategy, particularly in tropical regions experiencing ...

Frequency of Pseudomonas's Antibiotic Resistance and Virulence Genes in Poultry Meat

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 6, November 2025.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa detected in 36.69% of poultry meat samples. P. aeruginosa has a high resistance to antibiotic agents, especially penicillin and tetracycline. The findings indicate that poultry meat could play a role in transmitting P. aeruginosa to humans.

Bridging the Ideological Divide: Communicating the Positive Economic Impact of Climate Policy to Persuade the Right

open access: yesJournal of Community &Applied Social Psychology, Volume 35, Issue 2, March/April 2025.
ABSTRACT Political polarisation on the issue of climate change is an obstacle to an effective public debate on the measures needed to tackle the problem. Polymorphisms Influence the Expression of the Fas and FasL Genes in COVID-19

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences
The apoptotic molecule Fas and its ligand FasL are involved in the process of T-lymphocyte death, which may lead to lymphopenia, a characteristic of severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In this study, we investigated the influence of polymorphisms

Cytokine Profiles Associated With Acute COVID-19 and Long COVID-19 Syndrome

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2022
The duration and severity of COVID-19 are related to age, comorbidities, and cytokine synthesis. This study evaluated the impact of these factors on patients with clinical presentations of COVID-19 in a Brazilian cohort. A total of 317 patients diagnosed

Provocative Vocatives: Slurs as Expressives

open access: yesPhilosophical Perspectives, Volume 38, Issue 1, Page 41-53, December 2024.
ABSTRACT Fifty years ago, Zwicky demonstrated the slur‐neutral counterpart vocative divergence thesis (SNCVD):Slurs occur freely as vocatives. Neutral counterparts do not. In this article, I craft a novel problem for theories of slurs. The Vocatives Problem is the challenge to explain the SNCVD. I argue that there are two strong solutions.

Methods for the SI-traceable value assignment of the purity of organic compounds (IUPAC Technical Report)

open access: yesPure and Applied Chemistry, 2023
The “purity” of an organic compound typically refers, in practice, to an assignment of the mass fraction content of the primary organic component present in the material. The “purity” value of an organic primary calibrator material is the ultimate source
