Application of Geochemical Data as Evidence of Water-Rock Interaction in the Sarvak Formation, Izeh Zone, Zagros, Iran [PDF]

open access: yesProcedia Earth and Planetary Science, 2013
The Sarvak formation from the Bangestan group is an important petroleum reservoir in Iran that we studied geochemically in 5 outcrop sections in the Izeh zone. Our results show that characteristics of the Sarvak Formation changed in the Izeh zone.

Depositional history of the uppermost Albian–Turonian Sarvak Formation in the Izeh Zone (SW Iran)

International Journal of Earth Sciences, 2021
The uppermost Albian–Turonian interval has been studied in the south of the Izeh Zone (SW Iran) to investigate the depositional history of the Sarvak Formation in this area. This interval in the Middle East is characterized by the presence of very large shallow water carbonate platforms, surrounding the intra-shelf basins.

Facies Analysis and Depositional Environment of the Sarvak Formation (Cenomanian) in the Zagros Basin (SW of Iran)

2021
In this study, two stratigraphic sections of Sarvak Formation were selected which are nominated Bavan and Kherameh sections. Over 379.5 meters of the Sarvak Formation and 260 thin sections have been studied. Index microfacies and foraminifers have been identified. Index microfacies include Boundstone, Wackestone and Packstone. The frequency of bioclast

Effects of Microfacies and Diagenesis on Petrophysical Properties of Sarvak Formation, Fars Area, Southern Iran

GEO 2010, 2010
The Lower to Upper Cretaceous (Albian- Turonian) Sarvak Formation, the second major oil and gas reservoir in Zagros Basin of southern Iran is principally composed of carbonates with minor shale. 15 microfacies were recognized from 287 meters of core and 329 thin sections (colored with red Alizarin) were collected for petrographic analysis, together ...

Microbiostratigraphy,Microfacies and Depositional Environment of the Sarvak and Ilam Formations in the Gachsaran Oilfield, southwest Iran

Micropaleontology, 2018
Microbiostratigraphy, microfacies and depositional environments of the Sarvak and Ilam formations have been studied in the Gachsaran Oilfield (well no. 335). The thickness of the Sarvak and Ilam formations are 95.5 and 66.5 meters respectively and they consist of limestone with minor shale.

Integrated Petrophysical Modeling for a Strongly Heterogeneous and Fractured Reservoir, Sarvak Formation, SW Iran

Natural Resources Research, 2016
Introducing and applying an appropriate strategy for reservoir modeling in strongly heterogeneous and fractured reservoirs is a controversial issue in reservoir engineering. Various integration approaches have been introduced to combine different sources of information and model building techniques to handle heterogeneity in geological complex ...

Subaerial exposure and meteoric diagenesis of the Cenomanian-Turonian Upper Sarvak Formation, southwestern Iran

Geological Society, London, Special Publications, 2010
Abstract The Sarvak Formation (Cenomanian–Turonian) forms one of the main reservoir rocks in many oilfields in southern Iran. Extensive lateral and vertical facies variations as well as effects caused mainly by the subaerial exposure associated with the regional Turonian unconformity have resulted in variable porosity and ...

Static reservoir modeling using geostatistics method: a case study of the Sarvak Formation in an offshore oilfield

Carbonates and Evaporites, 2020
Static reservoir modeling for optimizing the strategies of hydrocarbon field developments using seismic data and well logs is the focus of this study. The static reservoir modeling is conducted to estimate reservoir properties of the Upper Sarvak formation in one of the offshore oil fields in the Persian Gulf.
