PPP–RTK functional models formulated with undifferenced and uncombined GNSS observations

open access: yesSatellite Navigation, 2022
Technique PPP–RTK combines the advantages of both the Precise Point Positioning (PPP) and the Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning. With the emergence of multi-frequency Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) observations, it is preferable to ...

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

The analemma criterion: accidental quasi-satellites are indeed true quasi-satellites

open access: yes, 2016
In the Solar system, a quasi-satellite is an object that follows a heliocentric path with an orbital period that matches almost exactly with that of a host body (planetary or not).

A Multi‐Center Retrospective Cohort Study of Neurosarcoidosis Myelitis: Current Observations and Future Directions

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The optimal treatment for neurosarcoidosis myelitis is uncertain. We characterize incident neurosarcoidosis myelitis and assess treatment response by MRI and clinical scales. Methods Incident probable or definite neurosarcoidosis myelitis in adults was retrospectively identified from 13 academic medical centers.

Using a Supramolecular Approach to Engineer Modular Hydrogel Platforms for Culturing Protoplasts – from General Tissue Engineering to Cellular Agriculture

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Using supramolecular monomers, various hydrogel culture systems were formulated to culture protoplasts; including 2D, 2.5D, and 3D hydrogels. Depending on the culture platform, bioactive functionalization led to protoplast enlargement (2D and 2.5D) or plasmolysis (3D). This work shows the potential to modularly engineer synthetic platforms for cellular

Analysis of penumbral eclipse data [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
Two days of data from the ATS-6 1976 eclipse season were analyzed to determine the effects of varying photoelectron flux on spacecraft potential. Particular emphasis was placed on the variation in potential as the satellite entered the earth's penumbra ...

Unrolling of Syngonium podophyllum: Functional Anatomy, Morphology and Modelling of Its Peltate Leaves

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The unrolling of the peltate leaves in Syngonium podophyllum is analyzed and quantified (left‐hand side to center). These measurements serve to verify a mathematical model for leaf unrolling based on the model used in Schmidt (2007). An additional formula for obtaining a layer mismatch from a prescribed radius is derived.

Comparing the observed properties of the GRBs detected by the Fermi and Swift satellites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We studied the distribution of the GRBs, observed by the Fermi satellite, in the multidimensional parameter space consisting of the duration, Fluence, Peak flux and Peak energy (if it was available). About 10% of the Fermi bursts was observed also by the

Estimating rainfall and water balance over the Okavango River Basin for hydrological applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A historical database for use in rainfall-runoff modeling of the Okavango River Basin in Southwest Africa is presented. The work has relevance for similar data-sparse regions.

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...
