The night sky brightness measured from satellites Kosmos 51 and 213
Symposium - International Astronomical Union, 1970(1)The minimum measured brightness of the night sky (in the visual region) is about 100 stars of the 10th magnitude per square degree near the galactic poles.(2)The ratio of fluxes in the ultraviolet (2300–3000 Å) and visual regions is approximately in agreement with expected theoretical data based on the models of stellar atmospheres for spectral ...

Global simulation of microwave brightness temperature based on satellite observation
SPIE Proceedings, 2008Global brightness temperature simulations were performed at 0.25 degree resolution both including the atmospheric effect and pixel heterogeneity in wide wave band. For surfaces such as snow, deserts, and vegetation, volumetric scattering was calculated using a two-stream radiative transfer approximation.

Brightness Preserving Satellite Image Contrast Enhancement using Bacterial Foraging Algorithm
Proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Signal Processing Systems, 2017A novel technique is presented for satellite image contrast enhancement using Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm (BFOA) while preserving the brightness of the image. The classification of the image is done on the basis of its exposure, i.e., underexposed or overexposed.

Combining the satellite imagery with bright sunshine hours: A review
Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy, 2013Present article is a review of recent researches on linking the satellite image data to surface measured bright sunshine hours. It first gives some basics on estimation procedures of the daily global solar irradiation on horizontal surface with the daily bright sunshine hours. Second, a satellite based model is presented briefly.
