Pseudo channel reciprocity in FDD satellite channels

open access: yes, 2023
Channel reciprocity can significantly reduce the overhead of obtaining channel-state information at the transmitter (CSIT). However, true reciprocity only exists in time division duplex (TDD). In this paper, we propose a novel tracking method that exploits implicit reciprocity in FDD line-of-sight (LOS) channels as in low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite ...

On the Integration of Random Access and DAMA Channels for the Return Link of Satellite Networks

open access: yes, 2013
Recent advances in Random Access (RA), improving throughput and loss rates, make the usage of such technique particularly interesting to complement Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) channels for the return link of satellite systems.

A delay model for satellite constellation networks with inter-satellite links

open access: yes, 2009
Within this paper we examine a non-geostationary satellite constellation network with inter-satellite links (ISLs) for global air traffic control (ATC) and air passenger communication (APC).

On the Achievable Rates for the Return-Link of Multi-Beam Satellite Systems Using Successive Interference Cancellation

open access: yes, 2011
This paper investigates the theoretically reachable rates in the return-link of multi-user multi-beam satellite systems. The return-link can actually be analyzed by means of multiple-input multiple-output signal processing techniques. While MIMO inspired

Parallel Blind Adaptive Equalization of Improved Block Constant Modulus Algorithm With Decision-Directed Mode

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
To eliminate inter-symbol interferences (ISI) caused by nonlinear group delay effect in high-speed broadband satellite sensor networks, an efficient parallel adaptive blind equalization of improved block constant modulus algorithm (IBCMA) with decision ...

OFDM receiver for fixed satellite channel

open access: yesJournal of Communications and Networks, 2010
This paper proposes an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform for the forward link of a fixed broadband satellite system. We focus on the synchronization tasks in the receiver. Our objective is to minimize the required overhead, in order to improve the spectral efficiency with regard to a single carrier waveform system.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.
