OPTIMAL OPERATIONS PLANNING FOR SAR SATELLITE CONSTELLATIONS IN LOW EARTH ORBIT

open access: yes, 2005
Satellite constellations for Earth observation are remarkably useful, powerful and exible tools, but their realisation and maintenance pose a big issue on costs.

Steering Oxygen Activation Pathways via Redox Dual‐Defects in 2D Hydrated WO3 for High‐Yield Singlet Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Redox dual‐defects (Cs substitution and O vacancies) in 2D hydrated WO3 steer O2 activation toward selective singlet oxygen evolution. WO‐CO achieves 8.6–15.8 times higher 1O2 production than single‐defect or pristine catalysts, enabling efficient pollutant mineralization via a pathway‐selective photocatalytic mechanism.

Internetworking with satellite constellations

open access: yes, 2012
Here, we examine networking and internetworking issues affecting satellite networking in complex satellite constellation networks, and determine what is needed in order to support services based on the TCP/IP suite well in satellite constellations.

Time‐Resolved Magnetization Switching Dynamics Driven by Orbital Torques

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Du et al. reveal nanosecond magnetization switching driven by orbital currents using time‐resolved Hall detection. The measurements separate domain nucleation from domain wall propagation and show that Joule heating strongly assists switching by lowering energy barriers.

Coupling Anodic Activity and Stability at Ni‐Based Non‐Oxide Catalysts via Coordinating Alcohol Oxidation and Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A cooperative and competitive interrelationship between alcohol oxidation (AOR) and water oxidation (OER) was observed on a typical anode catalyst of Ni2P. In situ Raman spectroscopy and electrochemical analyses revealed a specific complementary mechanism between them, in which OER and AOR critically contribute to the activity and stability of anodic ...

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

Giant Magnetic Coercivity Driven by Spin‐Bag Ferromagnetism in Epitaxial Sr3YCo4O10+δ Films with Engineered 2D Oxygen Vacancy Ordering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A giant magnetic coercivity and a vertical shift of hysteresis loops are demonstrated in Sr3YCo4O10+δ epitaxial films. The hard magnetic behavior originates from ferromagnetic spin bags stabilized within a long‐range ordered oxygen‐vacancy structure.

Electro-optic Satellite Constellation Design Using Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm

open access: yes, 2020
Satellite constellation design is a complex, highly constrained, and multidisciplinary problem. Unless optimization tools are used, tradeoffs must be conducted at the subsystem level resulting in feasible, but not necessarily optimal, system designs.
