Sparse Satellite Constellation Design for Global and Regional Direct-to-Satellite IoT Services

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2022
In this article, we introduce and design sparse constellations for direct-to-satellite Internet of Things (DtS-IoT). DtS-IoT does not require a ground infrastructure, because the devices are directly connected to low earth orbit satellites acting as ...

Design of Mega-Constellations for Global Uniform Coverage with Inter-Satellite Links

open access: yesAerospace, 2022
Constellation configuration design is a prerequisite and critical step in the construction of a mega-constellation system in low Earth orbit. However, the huge number of satellites and the intricate changes in relative positions among them make the ...

A novel design on multi-layer satellite constellation network

open access: yes上海师范大学学报. 自然科学版, 2016
With the increasing demand of space technology, the traditional single layer satellite constellation network is restricted in the development of future space technology because of its simple structure. For this reason, more and more researchers have carried

Shortest Path in LEO Satellite Constellation Networks: An Explicit Analytic Approach

open access: yesIEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications
The Shortest Distance Path (SDP) problem is a critical routing issue in communication networks, particularly in satellite networks. Typically, SDP is solved by graph-based iterative algorithms, while an explicit or analytic approach is challenging ...

A technical comparison of three low earth orbit satellite constellation systems to provide global broadband

open access: yesActa Astronautica, 2019
The idea of providing Internet access from space has made a strong comeback in recent years. After a relatively quiet period following the setbacks suffered by the projects proposed in the ’90s, a new wave of proposals for large constellations of low ...

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.
