Incorporation of star measurements for the determination of orbit and attitude parameters of a geosynchronous satellite: An iterative application of linear regression [PDF]
Currently on NOAA/NESS's VIRGS system at the World Weather Building star images are being ingested on a daily basis. The image coordinates of the star locations are measured and stored. Subsequently, the information is used to determine the attitude, the

Enhancment of dense urban digital surface models from VHR optical satellite stereo data by pre-segmentation and object detection [PDF]
The generation of digital surface models (DSM) of urban areas from very high resolution (VHR) stereo satellite imagery requires advanced methods. In the classical approach of DSM generation from stereo satellite imagery, interest points are extracted and

Microstructure Design of Steel‐Spinel Composites via Spark Plasma Sintering Process
This study illustrates how spark plasma sintering at reduced oxygen partial pressure enables controlled formation of steel‐spinel composites through tailored redox reactions and cation exchange. Comparison of the MgO–Fe2O3, steel–(MgO+Cr2O3), and steel–(MgO+Fe2O3) systems shows how oxygen activity and interface chemistry govern spinel formation, phase ...

A concept for a future ground control data set for image correction [PDF]
Strips of ground control can be established with current and future satellite sensors. These can provide precise and reliable geometric references for locating and correcting satellite image data and to support temporal image registration.

Production of MgO/TiC Composites From MgO‐C Recyclates Using Spark Plasma Sintering
Using the spark plasma sintering technique, MgO/TiC composites are manufactured from recycled MgO‐C refractories stemming from the steel production that were mixed with titanium powder. This article shows, how the size of the Ti grains and their distribution in the powder mixture affect the local carbon concentration in TiC.
