A data-adaptive network design for the regional gravity field modelling using spherical radial basis functions

open access: yesGeodesy and Geodynamics
A high-precision regional gravity field model is significant in various geodesy applications. In the field of modelling regional gravity fields, the spherical radial basis functions (SRBFs) approach has recently gained widespread attention, while the ...

A critical approach to the concept of a polar, low-altitude LARES satellite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
According to very recent developments of the LARES mission, which would be devoted to the measurement of the general relativistic Lense--Thirring effect in the gravitational field of the Earth with Satellite Laser Ranging, it seems that the LARES ...

Satellite Laser Ranging in Egypt

open access: yesNRIAG Journal of Astronomy and Geophysics, 2015
AbstractThe paper concerns on the satellite laser ranging (SLR) in Egypt. The three generations which can be loosely defined by their single shot root mean square precision, are discussed. The laser generators used at the Helwan half automatic and full automatic stations are described.

Lasers for coherent optical satellite links with large dynamics

open access: yes, 2013
We present the experimental realization of a laser system for ground to satellite optical Doppler ranging at the atmospheric turbulence limit. Such a system needs to display good frequency stability (a few parts in 10^{-14}) whilst allowing large and ...

HORIZONTAL POSITION OPTIMAL SOLUTION DETERMINATION FOR THE SATELLITE LASER RANGING SLOPE MODEL [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2016
According to the Gaussian-fit laser echo model and the terrain slope model, the regular mean value theorem and the asymptotic principle of the median point of the double integral mean value theorem are used to derive the optimal solution for the ...

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.
