Statistical prediction of satellite magnetic anomalies [PDF]
Computationally rapid statistical procedures are presented for satellite altitude normalizations and the gridding of magnetic anomaly data, as an alternative to the more commonly used but computationally expensive equivalent-source inversion procedures.

Magnetic Damping of Rotation of Satellite 1958β2
From over 200 observations of the decreasing spin rate of Vanguard I made during the year since its launching, eddy-current induction theory yields 0.115 ± 0.001 gauss as the mean magnetic field normal to the spin axis of the satellite. This measured value agrees with that deduced from Bauer's model of the earth's dipole field.

Estimating global ocean heat content from tidal magnetic satellite observations
Ocean tides generate electromagnetic (EM) signals that are emitted into space and can be recorded with low-Earth-orbiting satellites. Observations of oceanic EM signals contain aggregated information about global transports of water, heat, and salinity ...

Utility of correlation techniques in gravity and magnetic interpretation [PDF]
Internal correspondence uses Poisson's Theorem in a moving-window linear regression analysis between the anomalous first vertical derivative of gravity and total magnetic field reduced to the pole.

The re-emission spectrum of digital hardware subjected to EMI [PDF]
The emission spectrum of digital hardware under the influence of external electromagnetic interference is shown to contain information about the interaction of the incident energy with the digital circuits in the system.

OPTIMAL DISCRETE-TIME MAGNETIC ATTITUDE CONTROL OF SATELLITES [PDF]
Abstract The problem of designing discrete-time attitude controllers for magnetically actuated spacecraft is considered. Several methods are discussed and a novel approach to the tuning of ”projection based” controllers is proposed relying on periodic optimal output feedback control techniques. The main advantages of the proposed method are discussed

Spacecraft magnetic attitude control using approximating sequence Riccati equations [PDF]
This paper presents the results of a spacecraft attitude control system based on magnetic actuators designed for low Earth orbits. The control system is designed by using a nonlinear control technique based on the approximating sequence of Riccati ...
