Hydrological Evaluation of Satellite-Based Precipitation Products in Hunan Province

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
The quality of satellite-based precipitation products including TMPA 3B42, IMERG-early, IMERG-final, and CMORPH-CRT, is evaluated by comparing with gauge observations in Hunan province of China between 2017 and 2019. By using the outputs of the Dominant River Routing Integrated with VIC Environment (DRIVE) model, the hydrological applications of gauge-

Evaluation of satellite precipitation products using HEC-HMS model [PDF]

open access: yesModeling Earth Systems and Environment, 2020
AbstractAccurate measurement of precipitation is vital to investigate the spatial and temporal patterns of precipitation at various scales for rainfall-runoff modeling. However, accurate and consistent precipitation measurement is relatively sparse in many developing countries like Ethiopia.

Evaluation and Application of Satellite Precipitation Products in Studying the Summer Precipitation Variations over Taiwan [PDF]

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
In March 2019, Integrated Multi-satellitE Retrievals for Global Precipitation Measurement (IMERG)-Final v6 (hereafter IMERG6) was released, with data concerning precipitation dating back to June 2000. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has suggested that researchers use IMERG6 to replace the frequently used Tropical Rainfall ...

Multiregional Satellite Precipitation Products Evaluation over Complex Terrain [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Hydrometeorology, 2016
Abstract An extensive evaluation of nine global-scale high-resolution satellite-based rainfall (SBR) products is performed using a minimum of 6 years (within the period of 2000–13) of reference rainfall data derived from rain gauge networks in nine mountainous regions across the globe. The SBR products are compared to a recently released

Improving the Regional Applicability of Satellite Precipitation Products by Ensemble Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
Satellite-based precipitation products (e.g., Integrated Multi-Satellite Retrievals for Global Precipitation Measurement (IMERG) and its predecessor, Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM)) are a critical source of precipitation estimation, particularly for a region with less, or no, hydrometric networking.

The PERSIANN family of global satellite precipitation data: a review and evaluation of products [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2018
Abstract. Over the past 2 decades, a wide range of studies have incorporated Precipitation Estimation from Remotely Sensed Information using Artificial Neural Networks (PERSIANN) products. Currently, PERSIANN offers several precipitation products based on different algorithms available at various spatial and temporal scales, namely PERSIANN, PERSIANN ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

NPreciSe - An Automated Satellite Precipitation Product Assessment Tool

open access: yesScientific Data
AbstractSatellite-based Quantitative Precipitation Estimates (QPE) are indirect estimates of precipitation rates and as such are often prone to errors, warranting a need for characterizing the associated uncertainties before being used in application-specific studies.

Incorporation of Selenium into Sol–Gel‐Derived Bioactive Glass: Influence on Glass Structure, Bioactivity, and its Selective Cytotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Selenium was incorporated into a sol–gel‐derived bioactive glass to enable sustained therapeutic ion release. The selenium‐containing glass preserved bioactivity while selectively inducing cytotoxicity in osteosarcoma cells and maintaining osteoblastic viability.
