Introduction to the Current State of Satellite Precipitation Products
2014Floods cause more deaths than any other natural disaster around the world, with a death toll of more than 5000 individuals per year. The United States also has a long history of catastrophic flooding. Most flood deaths are due to flash floods that occur within a few minutes or hours of excessive rainfall over a region.
