Thermally Robust Spin–Orbit Torque Switching in Low‐Resistivity Mo‐Alloyed β‐W Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mo‐alloyed β‐W heterostructures exhibit enhanced spin‐orbit torque efficiency, reduced resistivity and switching current density, and reliable operation from −50 to +150°C. The optimized W87.3Mo12.7 device achieves high spin Hall conductivity with thermal robustness, highlighting its potential for energy‐efficient magnetic memory and automotive ...

High‐Performance n‐Type Organic Thermoelectrics Enabled by Control Over Microstructure, Orientation and Contact Plane in Naphthalenediimide‐Bithiazole‐Copolymer Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Effective control over the crystalline contact plane and microstructure of a naphthalenediimide‐bithiazole copolymer enables high‐performance n‐type thermoelectrics. While rubbing alignment induces a detrimental edge‐on orientation, subsequent solvent vapor‐induced re‐orientation facilitates a favorable mixed face‐on/edge‐on morphology.

Catalytically Enhanced Near Room‐Temperature Hydrogen Sensing Using Pd‐ZnO Colloidal Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pd‐decorated ZnO colloidal crystal monolayers demonstrate excellent performance across a wide hydrogen concentration range at 33°C, with high selectivity and reproducible device fabrication. The sensors show strong responses even at low‐ppm H2 concentrations and an ultra‐low detection limit of 82 ppb, indicating their suitability for diverse hydrogen ...

Mimetic Core‐Sheath Silk Sutures with Superior‐Strength for Pain Management, Anti‐Infection and Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sutures are crucial for tissue approximation and wound healing. Besides their strength limits requirement, they often fail to effectively address complications like infection and pain. Inspired by natural silk's “core‐sheath” structure, our suture features a wet‐spun core of n zinc‐fortified silk fibroin fibers (RSF‐Zn2+) after drawing with ...

Towards a synthesis of substorm electrodynamics : HF radar and auroral observations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
At 08:35 UT on 21 November 2004, the onset of an interval of substorm activity was captured in the southern hemisphere by the Far UltraViolet (FUV) instrument on board the IMAGE spacecraft. This was accompanied by the onset of Pi2 activity and subsequent

Engineering Nanoplatforms for Alzheimer's Disease Detection via Biomolecular Corona Proteomic and Lipidomic Profiling

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered nanoparticles capture disease‐specific biomolecular coronas that uncover hidden molecular features of Alzheimer's disease. Combined proteomic and lipidomic analyses reveal a characteristic shift in ribosomal machinery and energy metabolism, generating a multiomic fingerprint that supports accurate disease detection and opens new ...

On the possible causes of recent increases in northern hemispheric total ozone from a statistical analysis of satellite data from 1979 to 2003 [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2006
Global total ozone measurements from various satellite instruments such as SBUV, TOMS, and GOME show an increase in zonal mean total ozone at northern hemispheric (NH) mid to high latitudes since the mid-nineties.
