Dynamic Limits on Planar Libration-Orbit Coupling Around an Oblate Primary

open access: yes, 2012
This paper explores the dynamic properties of the planar system of an ellipsoidal satellite in an equatorial orbit about an oblate primary. In particular, we investigate the conditions for which the satellite is bound in librational motion or when the ...

Ontology‐Based Data Acquisition, Refinement, and Utilization in the Development of a Multilayer Ferrite Inductor

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Multilayer ferrite inductor prototypes are fabricated by cofiring metallized tapes of NiCuZn ferrite and glass‐ceramic composite. Prerequisites for a predictive component simulation are discussed. An automated data‐pipeline stores and semantically links the experimental data acquired in the study according to a domain ontology.

Attitude and In-orbit Residual Magnetic Moment Estimation of Small Satellites Using only Magnetometer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Attitude estimation or determination is a fundamental task for satellites to remain effectively operational. This task is furthermore complicated on small satellites by the limited space and computational power available on-board. This, coupled with a usually low budget, restricts small satellites from using high precision sensors for its especially ...

Performance of Angle of Arrival Detection Using MUSIC Algorithm in Inter-Satellite Link [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
An attitude of satellite is not always static, sometimes it moves randomly and the antenna pointing of satellite is harder to achieve line of sight communication to other satellite when it is outage by tumbling effect. In order to determine an appropriate direction of satellite antenna in inter-satellite link, this paper analyze estimation performance ...

Development of a Novel Processing Route for Dispersoid/Precipitation‐Strengthened High Conductive Copper Alloys by Using Metalized Nanoceramics in Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores a process chain to produce dispersoid‐strengthened CuCr1Zr for applications requiring high strength and conductivity. Using gas‐atomized powder and copper‐plated alumina nanoparticles, additive manufacturing is performed via powder bed based additive manufacturing with green and red lasers, followed by heat treatment.

A Study on Fuel Estimation Algorithms for a Geostationary Communication & Broadcasting Satellite [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2000
It has been developed to calculate fuel budget for a geostationary communication and broadcasting satellite. It is quite essential that the pre-launch fuel budget estimation must account for the deterministic transfer and drift orbit maneuver ...

Lasers for coherent optical satellite links with large dynamics

open access: yes, 2013
We present the experimental realization of a laser system for ground to satellite optical Doppler ranging at the atmospheric turbulence limit. Such a system needs to display good frequency stability (a few parts in 10^{-14}) whilst allowing large and ...
