Passively Q-Switched Thulium-Doped Fiber Laser Employing a Glycerin-Based Saturable Absorber
A passively Q-switched Thulium-doped fiber laser based on glycerin as the saturable absorber is experimentally demonstrated for the first time. The saturable absorber consists of two FC/PC connectors aligned within a mechanical fiber-fiber coupler, with ...

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

All-fibre mode-locked laser using SMF-GIMF-SMF structure as artificial saturable absorber
In this work, we proposed and experimentally demonstrated a combination of single mode fibre (SMF) with graded indexed multimode fibre (GIMF) to form an artificial saturable absorber. A SMF-GIMF-SMF structure is incorporated into Erbium-doped fibre laser
