Numerical analysis of molecules intersystem crossing effect on a passively Q- switched laser pulse characteristics

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Physics, 2021
The effect of molecules intersystem crossing (Kisc) on characteristics (energy and duration) of a Passive Q- switched Laser Pulse has been studied by mathematical description (rate equations model) for temporal performance of which was used as a ...

Passively Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser With Graphene Oxide in Heavy Water

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2014
Liquid saturable absorbers have some advantages in some aspects over solid saturable absorbers. In this paper, graphene oxide in heavy water (deuteroxide, D2O) dispersion was fabricated and used as absorber in Q-switched Nd:YAG laser for the first time ...

Generation of Bright-Dark Soliton Pairs in Mode-Locked Fiber Laser Based on Molybdenum Diselenide

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this article, molybdenum diselenide (MoSe2) was fabricated by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) with a modulation depth of about 7.3% and nonsaturable loss of about 30.6%.

Graphene saturable absorbers for VECSELs [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2014
We report mode-locking of an optically pumped VECSEL using a graphene-based saturable absorber mirror (GSAM). Self-starting and stable modelocked operation is demonstrated with 473 fs pulses at 1.5 GHz repetition rate and 949 nm center wavelength. Wavelength tuning is achieved over a 46 nm bandwidth. We discuss the mirror design, the fabrication of the

Self-Pulsating Semiconductor Lasers: Theory and Experiment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We report detailed measurements of the pump-current dependency of the self-pulsating frequency of semiconductor CD lasers. A distinct kink in this dependence is found and explained using rate-equation model. The kink denotes a transition between a region

One size does not fit all: An in vitro evaluation of the effects of bezafibrate and medroxyprogesterone acetate on human SH‐SY5Y and U‐87 MG cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Drugs previously repurposed to target blood cancers reduced neuroblastoma and glioblastoma cell growth and viability. However, their levels of anticancer activity were different and their clinical application may be problematic due to side effects at effective doses.

PMMA Sandwiched Bi2Te3 Layer as a Saturable Absorber in Mode-Locked Fiber Laser

open access: yesAdvances in Condensed Matter Physics, 2018
In this paper, we fabricated a PMMA sandwiched Bi2Te3 self-assembly layer as a saturable absorber device, which was used as a passive mode locker for ultrafast pulse generation at the telecommunication band.

Scaling of the saturation energy in microcavity saturable absorber devices [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2006
Several all-optical switching devices based on quantum well microcavity structures have been studied in view of their possible use for all-optical regeneration of telecommunication signals. Experiments and modeling show that the saturation energy is inversely proportional to a scaling factor describing the enhancement of the intracavity intensity at ...
