Robust Adaptive Tracking Control of the Underwater Robot with Input Nonlinearity Using Neural Networks [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2010
In this paper, robust adaptive tracking control is proposed for the underwater robot in the presence of parametric uncertainties and unknown external disturbances.

Generic saturation

open access: yesJournal of Symbolic Logic, 1998
Assuming that ORD is ω + ω-Erdös we show that if a class forcing amenable to L (an L-forcing) has a generic then it has one definable in a set-generic extension of L[O#]. In fact we may choose such a generic to be periodic in the sense that it preserve the indiscernibility of a final segment of a periodic subclass of the Silver indiscernibles, and ...

Transferrin Saturation and Mortality [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 2011
To the Editor: Ellervik and colleagues (1) recently reported a positive association between transferrin saturation (TS) and mortality. Several questions arise from this observation: Is the association due to all causes of iron overload or to hereditary hemochromatosis only? Does the study underestimate the true association?

Saturation for Small Antichains

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2023
For a given positive integer $k$ we say that a family of subsets of $[n]$ is $k$-antichain saturated if it does not contain $k$ pairwise incomparable sets, but whenever we add to it a new set, we do find $k$ such sets. The size of the smallest such family is denoted by $\text{sat}^*(n, \mathcal A_{k})$. Ferrara, Kay, Kramer, Martin, Reiniger, Smith and

Safety of Daprodustat for the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease Anemia: Final Analysis of a Multicenter Postmarketing Surveillance Study in Japan

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This final analysis of a multicenter, prospective postmarketing surveillance study evaluated the safety of daprodustat in patients with chronic kidney disease anemia in routine clinical practice in Japan. Methods Patients who initiated daprodustat between September 2020 and July 2022 were registered.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Gluon saturation in a saturated environment

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2011
A bootstrap equation for self‐quenched gluon shadowing leads to a reduced magnitude of broadening for partons propagating through a nucleus. Saturation of small‐x gluons in a nucleus, which has the form of transverse momentum broadening of projectile gluons in pA collisions in the nuclear rest frame, leads to a modification of the parton distribution ...

Use of Indices in RGB and Random Forest Regression to Measure the Leaf Area Index in Maize

open access: yesAgronomy
In the cultivation of maize, the leaf area index (LAI) serves as an important metric to determine the development of the plant. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that capture RGB images, along with random forest regression (RFR), can be used to indirectly ...

Saturated Subgraphs of the Hypercube [PDF]

open access: yesCombinatorics, Probability and Computing, 2016
We say a graph is (Qn,Qm)-saturatedif it is a maximalQm-free subgraph of then-dimensional hypercubeQn. A graph is said to be (Qn,Qm)-semi-saturatedif it is a subgraph ofQnand adding any edge forms a new copy ofQm. The minimum number of edges a (Qn,Qm)-saturated graph (respectively (Qn,Qm)-semi-saturated graph) can have is denoted by sat(Qn,Qm ...
